Luia (Carrie) White (?)
Born March 24th 1887 - Passed Nov. 25th 1967 (80)

Early vintage Niagara Falls fold-out postcards featuring "The Indian's Sacrifice" legend are collectible, with examples from 1905–1912 available on eBay. These postcards typically depict an indigenous maiden in a white canoe going over the falls, often dated around 1906, 1909, or 1912. They feature detailed, romanticized artwork illustrating this popular historical legend. [1, 2]
-
Common Themes: The cards often feature the "Indian Sacrifice" scene along with other landmark views, such as the "Giant Rock on the Gorge Route".
-
Time Period: The postcards frequently date from the "Divided Back" era, approximately 1907-1915.
-
Types: Some items are single postcards, while others are fold-out booklets or folders.
-
Availability: These are frequently listed on eBay and occasionally on Amazon under vintage Niagara Falls souvenir

1890
Just copying this piece of document here as a placeholder for further research. I swear these must be her parents as so much fits. George L White married to a woman named Elizabeth or Lizzie W in West Virginia. If I recall this person, Lizzie died in 1890 which would put it three years after Terry was born. Another option might be carry was put up for adoption. Perhaps that's why we can't find her under the name of Carrie White so far.
Wetzel sure sounds like a German name. But what about white? Her father's name was George L. (Lake) White. Even though the name's match, the place of West Virginia matches and their approximate ages of marriage and death all match what could be Carrie's parents?

Lizzie was 20 years old when married in 1886. She died in 1890 three years after Carrie was born. I wonder if possible death was due to a second or third pregnancy. Not uncommon for the time.

212 Eagle St., Buffalo, NY is where Frank lived status married during the 1940 census.

The letter Carrie wrote to Claude had a return address of 230 Division St., Buffalo, NY which is only a three minute walk from his address from the 1940 census. Not that the letter was from that time. I suspect it was from much earlier somewhere around 1911-1915.

This is frustrating as I've also found a Lena V White Born in the same town as Carrie and born on the same day. To a father, whose name is George L White. Was Carrie a twin? But look at George L White obituary that mentions Elizabeth as the first wife, but does not say anything about being survived by Carrie.

If Carrie was a twin, wouldn't it be interesting that her name on the gravestone is spelled
Luia and this other girl who was born on the same day, her name is spelled Lena

Luia and Lena Twins????? But I have found a 1910 census that shows Lena has been 13 years old and no sister just a few brothers. What the hell a man with the same name has a similar sounding name of a daughter in the same town that carries from born on the same day she is March 24, 1887

Could this be Carrie's twin sister?
Lena V. (White) Kersey
Greenbrier, West Virginia
Born on the same day March 24th 1887
Mother's name is left off the form with the letters DK, don't know. So weird because the same happened on Car's death certificate mother's maiden name, don't know.
Lena
Luia
Interesting that the names sound similar as you might give twins. Or maybe not. But come on really what are the chances?

Picking part this Niagara Falls souvenir letter
First, I will post the letter then going line by line. I will dissect interesting points about this item.
1915?

Firstly, I would like to establish who this letter is to and from.

The letter is addressed to Claude Faye in Spartansburg, Pennsylvania. And if you look very closely, it looks like it may be Bradford Pennsylvania underneath that Spartanburg.

These litters look like Carry
As we go through Carrie's letter notice how she writes her Capital D's and F's

Claude as we know, after marrying Harriet was living in Bradford Pennsylvania. As seen here, the arrows are pointing to what appear to be a "B" an "F" and a "D". My recollection offhand was without reviewing Claude was married to Harriet and had two children born around 1917 and 1918. After Harriet left Claude shortly after the kids birth he was back-and-forth between New York and Pennsylvania between setting up divorce and setting the kids up for adoption. Some of the first records I think I found of Frank being married to Carrie or around 1915.

1915 census shows Frank already married to Carrie

1917 Claude, marries Harriet.

1919/20/21 Claude divorces in puts kids up for adoption and moves to New Yor

Frank and wife Carrie,Claude and Evelyn, Shirley (1) and Marie (3) Photo says 1929 but Shirley was born late November 1929 and judging from their clothes and Shirley's age the most it could be is early spring 1930- possibly they are in Bradford Pennsylvania to show family the newborn Shirley.
