1900

1900 Census

Notice how Ernest is here at six years old in 1910 but at age 16 in the 1910 senses, he is missing so he must have already been shot before the age of 16 in before the date of 1910. Family rumor has it that he was accidentally shot in a hunting accident. By one of his brothers, but the only one old enough at that time to go out hunting would be Frank. Claude is younger than Ernest or Frank. then again Claude would have been somewhere around 13 or 14 years old and going out with his older brother Ernest Claude could still have been the one that accidentally shot his older brother

1903
Frank Fay was the one who shot his little brother and killed him.

See this newspaper clipping from the Buffalo news August 5th, 1903 Shooting took place in Corry, PA

1910

1910 Census

The first thing that jumps out at me is Ernest is not in this census. He must have already been accidentally shot by 1910.

Among the notable things in this 1910 census that great grandpa lists his father as have been born in Scotland

Also Minnie says the age at marriage was 15.
